The Commissioners of Public Works are examining numerous observations submitted to them following the exhibition of this scheme in the district. Much still remains to be done before a date for the commencement of work can be given.
Could the Parliamentary Secretary give at this stage an approximate date as to when we may see work commencing?
As I have pointed out, when the scheme was put on show a great many observations were received —the Deputy probably sent some in himself—and these must be examined thoroughly. We would hope we could start work early next year.
