Vol. 294 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unlicensed Television Sets.

6.

(Dublin Central) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of unlicensed television sets discovered to date.

I assume the Deputy's question relates to the number of unlicensed television sets detected during the recent television licence campaign. The number was 27,136.

Has the campaign been completed?

The campaign began on 28th October, 1976, and continued in all areas for three weeks up to 13th November last. The campaign was extended for a fourth week in the Dublin postal district and in the Cork postal district. It is now completed.

Did it include the off-shore islands?
