Vol. 295 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water Schemes.

61.

asked the Minister for Local Government the up-to-date position of the proposed Baunmore (Lismire) group water scheme, County Cork.

The county council have informed my Department that, while they are prepared to make a connection available for the lower section (Rusheens), of this group scheme they will not be in a position to give a connection to the high level area (Baunmore) until the headworks of the Newmarket/Kanturk public scheme are augmented. I understand that the council propose to carry out the necessary augmentation works in the coming year.

62.

asked the Minister for Local Government the up-to-date position of the extension of Ballydesmond, County Cork water scheme to Glencollins.

This is a proposed group water scheme to serve seven houses at Glencollins by way of an extension from Ballydesmond public supply. Cork County Council, by letter dated 30th November confirmed their approval of the design for the scheme. The group will now be advised to seek quotations for materials and construction work so that firm costings may be determined and the appropriate grants allocated, if in order.
