Vol. 295 No. 4

Written Answers. - Offaly Electricity Charge.

80.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he will reduce the charge of £350 that is requested by the ESB from a person (name supplied) in County Offaly in respect of his new house, in view of the fact that the heavy tension wires had not to be removed.

Cavan): I am informed by the ESB that the quotation of £350 is directly related to the cost of extending supply to the new house of the person in question. The board say that the work involved in extending supply includes one span of LT—low tension—line, a 5 KVA transformer, underground service and meter. The existence of a high tension line nearby does not affect the cost which the board say they cannot reduce.
