Vol. 296 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois Estate.

20.

asked the Minister for Lands when acquisition proceedings were first introduced by the Land Commission concerning an estate (details supplied) in County Laois; when they were finalised; the reason for the delay in taking possession of this estate; and when this will be done.

I would refer the Deputy to the replies to his previous questions in this matter on 26th July, 1973 (No. 8), 25th February, 1975 (No. 14) and 3rd March, 1976 (No. 14).

Since the last reply it was found that because two of three persons who appear to be the owners of this property reside outside the jurisdiction, it will be necessary for the Land Commission to seek directions from the court in respect of service of notices preliminary to applying for an order for possession. The necessary application for such directions will be ready for submission to the court before the end of February, 1977.
