Vol. 296 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Unemployment Benefit.

11.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange for the immediate payment of unemployment benefit to a person (name supplied) in County Cork.

A claim for unemployment benefit by the person concerned was disallowed by a deciding officer because employment, for which a single contribution was paid in respect of him since his return to this country and on which his title to benefit depended, was held to be not insurable. He did not appeal against the decision of the deciding officer but representations made on his behalf have been accepted as an appeal and arrangements are being made to have an oral hearing of the case before an appeals officer. He will be notified in due course of the place, date and time of the hearing.
