The total number of persons recruited to my Department, for the first time, in the periods specified by the Deputies was 166 in 1973; 203 in 1974; 186 in 1975; 99 in 1976. The number recruited other than by public competition in the same periods was respectively four, three, one and two. One such person was recruited in the past six months.
