Vol. 296 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Cork Community Centre.

88.

asked the Minister for Finance the date on which officials of the Office of Public Works inspected Freemount Community Centre, County Cork with a view to having part of the building incorporated in the plans for the new primary school; if they met members of the local community council; and the recommendations they made.

An architect from the Office of Public Works and an inspector from the Department of Education met the chairman of the school management board on 6th November, 1975, and discussed the possibility of the use of the community centre for school purposes. The architect and the inspector considered that the community centre was not suitable for use for school purposes. They did not feel it necessary to meet members of the local community council.
