Vol. 296 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fertiliser Subsidy.

3.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the present subsidy on superphosphate per unit; and if he proposes to make any change in the level of subsidies.

In the case of superphosphate of Irish or other EEC origin, which represents practically all the superphosphate used here, the present subsidy is 54p per tonne for each unit (1 per cent) water soluble phosphorous. At present I have no intention of altering this rate.
