Vol. 296 No. 12

Written Answers. - Offaly Estate.

83.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the present position regarding the Atkinson estate (details supplied) in County Offaly; and if he will state why the Land Commission has failed to inform Deputy Lalor of the outcome of a judgement given in November last despite a written promise by them on 15th October, 1976, and despite written requests to the Land Commission on 1st December, 1976, and 12th January, 1977.

I understand that judgement disallowing the objection to acquisition proceedings in this case was given by the lay commissioners on 10th December, 1976, and that an appeal against the decision is pending for hearing by the appeal tribunal. A letter issued to the Deputy on 11th February informing him of the present position in the matter. The Land Commission wish me to express their regret for the delay in informing the Deputy of the decision.
