asked the Minister for Finance the improvements that are to be carried out at Eglinton Street Garda Station, Galway; and when work will commence.

95.

asked the Minister for Finance the proposals that are with his Department for the provision of a new Garda station in Galway city.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 91 and 95 together.

Sketch plans have been prepared for a new Garda station to be erected on the site of the present station at Eglinton Street and these are being examined. The extent of the interim improvements which might be carried out in advance of the rebuilding project is being reviewed. Such works as are found practicable will be put in hands before the summer.
