Vol. 297 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dún Laoghaire East Pier.

25.

asked the Minister for Finance when he intends to restore the East Pier in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin to its pre-temporary car ferry condition.

Of the works which are required only a short section of pathway remains to be relaid and this will be completed very shortly.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that there is an old lifeboat house just before you come to the entrance to the East Pier? Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that that lifeboat house is required by St. Michael's Rowing Club to hold two rowing skiffs? Would the Parliamentary Secretary tell the House why St. Michael's Rowing Club, which is a long established rowing club catering for over 1,000 people, is not being allowed to use the facilities of the old lifeboat house? Two rotting rowing boats owned by nobody are at present lying in this old lifeboat house.

That is not the question that was asked.

It is part of the question asked.

The Deputy asked when it is my intention to restore the East Pier, Dún Laoghaire to its pre-temporary car-ferry condition. There was nothing about the lifeboat house.

Question No. 26 please.

Arising further——

The Deputy's question must be relevant.

It is very relevant.

The Chair will decide that.

With great respect, the Chair does not know where the old lifeboat house is on the East Pier.

That is not the question tabled here, there is nothing about a lifeboat in this question.

I am glad to have had the opportunity of asking the supplementary.

If the Deputy has a relevant question to put, the Chair will be happy to facilitate him.

I have already put the question which I consider to be relevant. I am grateful to the Chair for allowing me to ask it.
