Vol. 297 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford Water Supply.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government the steps that are being taken to rectify the water supply for Ardmore, County Waterford; and if he is aware of the serious difficulties experienced there last summer because of the lack of water.

It is a matter for the sanitary authority to remedy defects or deficiencies in any of their water supply schemes. I am informed that the scheme in question is inadequate for the demand during dry weather periods and that shortages have been experienced. I understand that Waterford County Council are preparing plans for the augmentation of the Ardmore scheme.
