Mr. R. Burke

asked the Minister for Justice the rise in the crime rate for each of the years 1974, 1975 and 1976 in (a) North County Dublin and (b) in each of the following areas: Santry, Ballymun, Swords, Malahide, Balbriggan and Skerries.

The following are particulars of the number of indictable crimes reported or known to the Garda during each of the years 1973 to 1976 in respect of the areas referred to in the question.

The figures given relate to the Garda sub-districts for the areas concerned and in the case of Balbriggan the Garda sub-district includes small parts of County Meath. The total figures for "North County Dublin" include the figures for the entire Balbriggan Garda sub-district.
