NOTES:
1. R. Retained beyond the normal retirement age for a fixed period; the question of notice did not arise in these cases.
H. Ill Health. In these cases employees apply to retire on grounds of ill health. The question of the Department issuing notice in these cases did not arise.
N. In these cases the employees retired at the normal retirement age. Normally 2 months' notice is given.
2. The Office of the Paymaster General is notified of the award of the pension on the date that the gratuity is paid. The actual date of payment is not available in the Department of Defence.
