Vol. 297 No. 10

Written Answers. - Galway Sewerage Outfall.

71.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will sanction an extension of the Ballyknow Quay sewerage outfall at Claddagh, Galway, to provide for the permanent removal of the raw sewage discharge point at the River Corrib opposite Claddagh Church.

Proposals for the improvement of the outfall at Ballyknow Quay were received in my Department on 14th February, 1977, and are being examined at present. Permanent removal of the outfall must await provision of the proposed new outfall at Mutton Island the planning of which is proceeding.
