Vol. 298 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Kilkenny Pedestrian Crossings.

74.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the serious danger to life, especially to schoolchildren, which exists in Urlingford, County Kilkenny because of the absence of pedestrian crossings and other safety means; and if he will take the necessary steps to have these provided.

The provision of such road safety facilities as pedestrian crossings is the direct responsibility of the local authority, acting with the consent or at the request of the Garda. Representations received in my Department in this regard were accordingly brought to the attention of Kilkenny County Council.
