Kildare County Council's proposal to finance this project has to be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for library projects and the comparatively large programme of such projects in progress at present. It is not possible at this stage to say when the proposal will be sanctioned.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will increase the priority rating for expenditure on library services.
The provision being made available for capital expenditure on libraries is the greatest amount possible having regard to the capital needs of such services as housing, sanitary services and so forth.
