Vol. 298 No. 1

Written Answers. - Land Registration.

88.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will arrange to have the registration completed on dealing number P. 194/77 in County Laois (details supplied).

89.

asked the Minister for Justice when the registration lodged in the Land Registry on 10th December, 1976, by a firm of solicitors (name supplied) will be issued.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 88 and 89 together.

As indicated in reply to a question from the Deputy which was answered on 8th February, 1977, the only possible way in which the flow of work in an office the size of the Land Registry can and ought to be managed is on the basis that applications are dealt with in order of receipt, subject to the qualification that where it is shown that hardship will result from delay, special efforts will be made to deal with the case as early as possible. Consequently, inquiries unsupported by that kind of evidence cannot be allowed to accelerate the processing of any particular case. Any inquiry as to the position in regard to an application may be addressed direct to the Land Registry.
