Vol. 298 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Waterford House Grant.

68.

asked the Minister for Local Government the length of time a new house grant for a person (name supplied) in County Waterford has been outstanding; and the length of time the file has been with the inspector.

A new house grant of £250 was allocated to the applicant on 2nd October, 1975. He notified the Department on 23rd March, 1976 that the house had been completed and the file was marked to the inspector on 29th March, 1976 for a report with a view to payment of the grant. Unfortunately, the file was mislaid. It has now been traced and steps are being taken with a view to early payment. The applicant's eligibility for the special rate of new house grant is also being investigated. I regret the inconvenience caused.
