Vol. 298 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Galway Estates.

128.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the long delay in dividing an estate in County Galway (details supplied); and why this farm has not been let by public auction as is the general practice with all Land Commission estates.

The Land Commission have not yet obtained possession of these lands. The proceedings have proved slow and tedious and efforts to bring them to finality have not so far been successful. Meanwhile, the question of the letting of the lands by the Land Commission does not arise.

129.

Mr. Kitt

asked the Minister for Agriculture when an estate in County Galway (details supplied) will be acquired by the Land Commission.

Proceedings are in progress for the compulsory acquisition of the property referred to and have reached the stage where an objection to acquisition is pending for determination.

It is not possible to say at present what the outcome of these proceedings will be.
