asked the Minister for Local Government the allocation made by his Department this year to carry out improvements on the Cork section of the Mallow-Killarney road.

I have not made a specific allocation to Cork County Council for the improvement of this section of the road in 1977. I have increased the total of the council's Road Fund grants for 1977 to £1,945,000, almost £½ million over the grants for 1976. The council are at liberty to carry out improvement works with the aid of their block grant which itself has been increased by £100,000 to £664,000.

9.
