Written Answers. - Clare Speed Limits.

58.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received recommendations for the establishment of speed limits in County Clare; the areas for which the limits are proposed; and when they will be sanctioned.

Proposals for the amendment of speed limits in County Clare were received in my Department on 14th January, 1977. The local authority were requested on 4th April, 1977, to clarify some descriptions of locations and to correlate certain measurements of distances as between maps and schedules to enable me to make amending regulations. Revised documentation is accordingly awaited. The council's proposals relate to—Ballynacally, Carrigaholt, Clarecastle, Cooraclare, Corofin, Cree, Crusheen, Ennis, Ennistymon, Kildysart, Kilkishen, Kilmihill, Knock, Lahinch, Liscannor, Lisdoonvarna, Miltown Malbay, Mountshannon, Newmarket-on-Fergus, O'Callaghans Mills, Parteen, Quilty, Ruan and Scarriff.
