asked the Minister for Health the number of health board hospitals where medical social workers are (a) employed and (b) not employed.

Social workers employed by health boards are not necessarily based on hospitals and in cases where they are so based not all of their duties may be related to the hospitals concerned. The posts approved, throughout the health boards, for different categories of social workers are given on a list which, with the approval of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

Following is the list:
