asked the Minister for Finance the cost to date of the Irish to English translation service for Dáil debates and the proportions of such debates conducted in Irish and English respectively.

The estimated cost of the Irish to English translation service, including capital cost of equipment, for Dáil debates since its introduction in October, 1972, is about £36,500.

The proportions of Dáil debates conducted in Irish and English over the period were about 1 per cent and 99 per cent respectively.
