asked the Minister for Labour the organisations that have been granted a trade union negotiating licence in the past ten years; and the applications that are still pending.

In the period from 1st January, 1967 to date, negotiation licences have been granted to 16 trade unions. The names of these trade unions are set out in the form of a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have circulated with the Official Report.

There are no applications pending for negotiating licences.

Following is the statement:

Organisation which have been granted Trade Union Negotiation Licences in the period 1st January, 1967 to 8th November, 1977.

1. Association of Professional Officers.

2. Post Office Officials' Association.

3. Teachers' Union of Ireland.

4. Amalgamated Union of Building Trade Workers. (Subsequently transferred its engagements to the Union of Construction Allied Trades and Technicians).

5. Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunication and Plumbing Union.

6. Psychiatric Nurses' Association of Ireland.

7. National Union of Insurance Workers (Composite Section). (Licence revoked on 7th March, 1973).

8. Association of Scientific Technical and Managerial Staffs.

9. National Union of Sheet Metal Workers, Coppersmiths Heating and Domestic Engineers.

10. Irish Electrical Technicians' Association.

11. Irish veterinary Union.

12. Irish Airline Pilots' Association.

13. The Union of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland.

14. National Engineering and Electrical Trade Union.

15. Irish Federation of University Teachers.

16. Guinness Staff Association.
