Vol. 301 No. 5

Written Answers. - Parking of Vehicles.

481.

asked the Minister for Justice the steps he proposes to take to alleviate the wanton parking of vehicles and to eliminate the risk therefrom at the junction of Howth Road and Killester Road, Dublin, in which vicinity vehicles are parked regularly on the footpaths and on the kerb.

I assume the Deputy is referring to the intersection at the junction of Howth Road and Collins Avenue East. The Garda say that there is heavy vehicular traffic in the area and every effort is being made to control parking and prevent traffic obstruction in the vicinity of the intersection. Since 1st January, 1977, 120 "fine-on-the-spot" notices have been issued in respect of vehicles illegally parked in the area.
