I have been informed by the Industrial Development Authority that the authority have been actively seeking to acquire industrial land at Bantry, County Cork since 1975. However, because of the scarcity of land suitable for industry in the area it has not been possible to purchase a suitable site.
I have been assured that the authority are continuing their efforts to acquire an industrial site in the town.
