asked the Minister for Education why a school bus serving Gurrane national school, Clondrohid, Macroom, County Cork was withdrawn; and when his Department notified the management committee.

This service which operated to Gurrane national school was not reintroduced in September, 1977, because the number of eligible children offering for transport was below the minimum necessary for its retention. The board of management were informed on 22nd July, 1977, that the service could not be reintroduced for the school-year 1977-78.

andMr. Creed asked the Minister for Education why a school bus serving Bandon Bridge national school catering for the Crookstown and Templemartin areas, County Cork was withdrawn; and when the management committee were notified.

It was decided early in 1977 to introduce revised school transport arrangements in the case of Bandonbridge NS and the board of management were informed accordingly by letter in February, 1977. Following representations received on behalf of the board of management in April, 1977, it was agreed, as an exceptional measure, to postpone the revision until after the summer term. It was emphasised, however, that from the commencement of the school year 1977-78 the re-organised scheme would be introduced. The chairman of the board of management was so informed on 27th April, 1977.
