Vol. 302 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Dublin Post-Primary Education.

350.

asked the Minister for Education his Department's plans for post-primary education in the Shankill and Ballybrack areas of County Dublin.

Shankill is a rapidly developing area and my Department has approved the provision of a 1,000 pupil co-educational school. At present the normal procedures for the acquisition of a site are in hands in my Department.

Provision of second level places in the Ballybrack area is being kept under review in the light of the further housing development and the amount of accommodation available or likely to be available in the existing schools in the area. Some pupils from Ballybrack would most likely enrol in the new Shankill School.
