Written Answers. - School Report Cards.

301.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state, in relation to the report cards prepared in respect of pupils in their final year at primary schools; (a) if such cards are confidential; and (b) if they are or can be made available to the child's parents or to any post-primary school to which the child is transferring.

A school report is furnished annually to parents in respect of each pupil in standards II-VI in national schools.

A school record card is completed in respect of pupils in standards V and VI. This card is transmitted to the authorities of the post-primary school to which the pupils transfer. The contents of the school record card are confidential to the school authorities concerned.
