The Vocational Education Committee of the town of Tralee was informed on 24th June, 1977, that having considered the recommendations of the Higher Education Authority and the National Council for Education Awards in relation to the Technical Institute, Clash, Tralee, the Minister for Education had decided that the institute should be advanced to the status of regional technical college.
