The present compilation of National Manpower Service records does not readily allow identification of those under 25 years currently registered as unemployed with the service.
At the end of October, 1977 there was a total of 14,133 terminal school-leavers registered with the service. This figure may, however, include a certain number already in employment and seeking a change of job. Also, as there is no compulsion on school-leavers to register with the NMS the figure does not include all school-leavers seeking employment.
