Written Answers. - Health Acts Eligibility.

98.

asked the Minister for Health if an appeals officer to adjudicate on the classification of manual and non-manual workers for the purposes of eligibility under the Health Acts has yet been appointed.

An appeals officer has not been appointed to adjudicate on the classification of manual and non-manual workers for the purposes of eligibility under the Health Acts.

99.

asked the Minister for Health if the working party set up on 16th May, 1977, to consider inter alia the definition of manual workers for Health Act provisions has made any ruling on this issue.

I presume that the question refers to the working party which was set up to deal with anomalies in the present system of limited eligibility and which had its first meeting on 9th March, 1977. This working party did not make any ruling or recommendation in regard to the definition of manual workers for services under the Health Acts.
