Vol. 304 No. 4

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

376.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when telephone facilities will be provided at Mountain View Estate, Boghall Road, Bray, County Wicklow.

I am informed that it is hoped to quote terms to applicants at Mountain View Estate within two months and the remainder by the middle of the year. Service is normally provided within three months of an agreement being signed by the applicant.

377.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of delays in the installation of telephones in the Ashbourne, County Meath area; and the steps being taken to meet current applications.

The answer to the first part of the question is yes. There is a shortage of underground cabling in the area. Arrangements have been made to remedy this and it is expected that terms will be quoted to about 40 applicants within the next month, to a further 50 or so by the end of the year and to the balance of about 30 by the middle of next year.
