477.

asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement in respect of the proposed improvements to the central heating system at St. Luke's Hospital, Clonmel, County Tipperary (a) the estimated cost of the works; (b) the amount of grant from his Department; (c) the commencement and completion dates; and (d) the name of the principal contracting firm.

A scheme of improvements to the central heating system at St. Luke's Hospital, Clonmel, is at an advanced stage of planning. Tenders for the work will be sought in the course of the next few weeks. The estimated cost, which will be recouped in full by my Department, is £250,000. Work is expected to commence within three months and will take about nine months to complete. The information at (d) will not be available until the tenders have been obtained and a contract placed.
