asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any proposals from Kildare County Council in relation to housing, water, sewage and road schemes; if so, in what areas; and their purport.

Layout plans in respect of housing schemes at Kildare (51 houses), Ardclough (10 houses) and Prosperous (12 houses) and house plans in respect of a scheme at Maynooth (37 houses) submitted by Kildare County Council for my approval are the subject of technical examination in my Department. The County Council have also submitted a claim for a capital allocation to finance a new house construction programme which they expect to get under way by 31 July 1978. Included in this programme are proposed schemes at Newbridge (100 houses), Kilcullen (40 houses), Monasterevin (29 houses), Ardclough (10 houses), Milltown (18 houses), Kilmeade (15 houses) and Maynooth (37 houses). This claim is under consideration in conjunction with similar claims by other authorities. The housing schemes are intended for applicants for rehousing by the council.

The following proposals for water supply and sewerage schemes are under consideration:

5. Celbridge Sewerage Extension to Templemills

Templemills

Provision of sewers to this area.

6. Naas Sewerage Distribution System, Stage 2

Naas Urban

Provision of new sewers for development.

7. Naas Surface Water Drainage

Naas Urban

Improvement of surface water drainage system in town.

8. Kildare Main Drainage Scheme

Kildare Town

Extension of sewers and improvement of treatment works.

There are no proposals from Kildare County Council for road works at present under consideration in my Department.

Meath County Council have submitted a claim for a capital allocation to finance a new house construction programme which they expect to get under way by 31 July, 1978. Included in the programme are proposed schemes at Trim (42 houses), Julianstown (14 houses), Ceannannus Mor (4 houses), Athboy (2 houses), Ashbourne (2 houses), Kentstown (2 houses), Dunboyne (14 houses), Kilberry (6 houses), Clonard (6 houses), Newtown (6 houses), Navan (40 houses) and Skryne (6 houses). This claim is under consideration in conjunction with similar claims by other authorities. The housing schemes are intended for applicants for rehousing by the council.
