Vol. 305 No. 2

Written Answers. - International Labour Office.

458.

asked the Minister for Labour if Ireland will follow the example of the Netherlands in voluntarily increasing its contribution to the budget of the International Labour Office to help compensate for the withdrawal of the United States from that organisation; and if the member states of the EEC have a common position on this matter.

Ireland has made a voluntary contribution to the budget of the International Labour Organisation for the biennium 1978-79 to help that organisation over its financial difficulties following on the withdrawal of the United States.

I understand that all the EEC countries and some other member states are also making voluntary contributions to the ILO.
