187.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when an old age pension book will be sent to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

A renewal old age (contributory) pension order book effective from 7 April 1978 was sent to Beauparc Post Office on 28 March 1978. On receipt of notification from the pensioner on 15 April 1978 that the book had not been received, a replacement pension order book was sent to him and it has since been confirmed that he has received it.

188.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why contributory old age pension arrears have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

Payment of arrears of old age (contributory) pension in the case of the person concerned was delayed pending receipt of verification of age in respect of his dependent children. A payable order for all arrears due has now been issued to him.

189.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a decision will be reached on the old age pension appeal of a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

The appeal in this case was lodged by the social welfare officer against the decision of the local pension committee awarding the person concerned an increased rate of pension. An appeals officer has decided that the person concerned is not entitled to an increased rate of pension.
