asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will introduce the free television allowance for those in receipt of British contributory pensions.

British retirement pensioners who are permanently resident in the State and who are aged 66 or over are entitled to the free television licence allowance if they fulfil the "living alone" qualifying condition.
