Vol. 306 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Flexi-Time Scheme.

5.

asked the Minister for the Public Service if he will consider introducing a flexi-time scheme for workers in the public service; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

6.

asked the Minister for the Public Service if he will give consideration to the introduction of flexi-time working in the public service.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to answer Questions Nos. 5 and 6 together. Flexible working hours have already been introduced on a trial basis in a number of areas of the civil service. Further pilot schemes are being considered.

Could the Minister say if this has been introduced in specific Departments or in State-sponsored bodies?

No, in the civil service.

In individual Departments?

How long has it been there?

Since about the middle of last year.
