Vol. 306 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Off-Course Betting Tax.

8.

asked the Minister for Finance the total amount of taxes collected by his Department from offcourse betting in 1977.

Total receipts from offcourse betting duty in 1977 amounted to £8,925,268.

Could the Minister break down that figure and tell us how much was collected from betting on horses, dogs, football matches, election results, and so on?

The original question did not seek that information.

I do not have that information here.

Could the Minister say how much of that money finds its way back into the various activities from which it is collected?

That is a separate question.

Not offhand, but if the Deputy puts down a question——

It is a totally separate question.
