asked the Minister for Education if he will give details of the membership and terms of reference of the Committee on the Structure of the Youth Programme, referred to by him in answer to Question No. 303 of 26 April 1978.

The information requested by the Deputy is contained in my press statement of 4 May 1978, which is as follows:

Mr. Jim Tunney, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Education wishes to announce that he has established a committee to report on the nature and effectiveness of the programmes being carried out by the youth organisations (non-uniformed) in receipt of grants, direct or indirect, from the Department of Education and to make any recommendations deemed appropriate for the improvement and development of the youth services.

The Minister has asked that an interim report be furnished before 31 August 1978.

The members of the committee are:

District Justice James J. O'Sullivan, (Chairman).

Dr. Cyril White, Department of Sociology, University College, Dublin.

Mr. Patrick Carey, National Teacher.

Mr. Liam Clare, Community and Environment Department, Dublin Corporation.

Mr. Michael Cleary, Education Officer, Macra na Tuaithe.

Mr. Geoffrey Corry, Secretary General, National Youth Council.

Senator Michael Donnelly.

Mr. Michael Keating, TD.

Rev. Donal Linehan, Chaplain, University College, Cork.

Mr. John Connor, 11 Church Street, Drogheda, County Louth.

Miss Anne Marie O'Neill, Psychologist, Department of Education.

Rev. Seán Sexton, Youth Worker.

Miss Noeleen Tyrell, Voluntary Youth Worker.
