Vol. 306 No. 10

Written Answers. - Forest Workers' Pay.

87.

asked the Taoiseach the revised rates of pay payable to forest workers, and county council road workers under the first phase of the 1978 National Wages Agreement; and the existing minimum rates payable to agricultural workers in the form of a reply of 18 October 1978.

The following statement gives for each county, (a) the basic weekly rate of wages and the hourly equivalent to the basic weekly rate of wages paid to forestry workers for a 40-hour week. An incentive bonus is payable in addition to those rates, (b) weekly rates of wages and the hourly equivalent of the weekly rates (both excluding service pay) paid by county councils to road workers for a 40-hour week, (c) minimum weekly rates and the hourly equivalent of these rates payable to adult agricultural workers under the Employment Regulation Order (Agricultural Workers Joint Labour Committee) 1978, effective from 30 January 1978. These rates apply to a 42½-hour week.

In the case of forestry and road workers the rates quoted incorporate the first phase of the 1978 National Wage Agreement.
