Vol. 306 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Cork Taxpayer.

92.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange with the Revenue Commissioners to have tax rebate and tax-free allowance issued to a person (name supplied) in County Cork who applied in March.

I understand from the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's tax position at 5 April 1978 shows an underpayment of £42.46, details of which have been supplied to him. There is therefore no rebate due. A certificate of tax-free allowances for the current year incorporating a restriction in respect of that underpayment was issued direct to the taxpayer's employers on 17 May 1978. A notice of determination of tax-free allowances was issued to the taxpayer on 19 May 1978.
