Vol. 306 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Cork Health Clinic.

98.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the need for a health board clinic in Castletownshend, County Cork; and if he will take steps to ensure that premises for such a clinic are provided.

I understand that the Southern Health Board have been renting a premises in Castletownshend for use as a health clinic but that this premises is no longer available to the board since last April. The health board have been actively searching for another premises for renting but so far have been unsuccessful in their search. However, it is hoped to obtain accommodation for renting in a matter of months.

In the long term, the health board are hopeful of acquiring a site for a health clinic from the county council and of providing a purpose built health centre for the district.
