: With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 122, 123, 124 and 125 together. A complete architectural survey of national schools would be necessary to supply the information requested. I have arranged, however, for a survey to be made by inspectors of my Department so that a full list may be prepared of schools in which conditions might be regarded as being unsatisfactory, and I shall examine the situation in the light of the information provided by that survey.

The average number of new primary schools, which may be regarded as approximating to the number which needed to be replaced in the period in question is 52.
