: As records in relation to the number of applications were not kept on a county-by-county basis until the beginning of this year, precise figures are not available for the number of applications received in County Kerry since the scheme began. Since 1 January last, 274 applications were received. In the period from 6 July 1977, to the 16 June 1978, 410 grants were approved in the county and 79 were paid. It is estimated that less than 5 per cent of all applications received have been refused.
