Vol. 307 No. 13

Written Answers . - Single-Parent Families .

176.

asked the Minister for Justice if he has any proposals in relation to changes in the law with regard to single-parent families.

: I do not know what particular laws the Deputy has in mind. Like other members of the public, members of single-parent families are or may be affected by various provisions of the law, including provisions that are not primarily in the area of responsibility of the Minister for Justice. In so far as my area of responsibility is concerned, any legislative proposals that I may have and that are approved by the Government will be brought before the Oireachtas in the ordinary way. In this connection, I refer to my reply to Question No. 31 of 27 April, 1978.
