: As the Deputy will appreciate, a major part of the costs involved would not be met from the Votes for which I am the responsible Minister as, for example, the costs of counsel for the prosecution. Moreover, it has never been the practice to give estimates of the cost of security measures in relation to particular operations.
The case is still before the courts and on that account, if for no other reason, I could not undertake to give any information about the expenditure associated with it.
